Contagious Christianity
(Feb 08-April 08)

Helps Christians communicate their faith in a style that fits them

It avoids stereotyped approaches that feel intimidating to many Christians.
Evangelism does not need to be frustrating or intimidating.  Instead,  learn how ordinary believers can share the gospel in a natural and

powerful way while being the person God made them to be.

Facing Your Giants (Sept 07-Jan 08)

1st & 3rd Sundays, 4:30-6pm

"Facing Your Giants" is a book by well-known author Max Lucado and is a study of the life of King David - an unlikely hero who was consumed with an awesome God.

Based on the Old Testament books of 1 Samuel and 2 Samuel, David's story encompasses both a life of incredible victory and of personal tragedy.  In this study, you will learn what David knew - that God is bigger than any giants you may face in life.

Focus on your giants - you stumble

Focus on God - your giants tumble

SOME STUDIES THAT WE FINISHED

MMLJ - 4 Guys, 4 Gospels    June/July 2007
A Wide-Angle View of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John with Pastor Scott

Imagine if you will - there is a traffic accident during rush hour
One witness tells his story to the police officer
Another shares what happened with her insurance company
Witness #3 explains what happened to her boss and co-workers
That night, a fourth talks about it with his wife
 1 event  - but 4 witnesses.  4 points of view.  4 audiences

Pastor Scott will lead this two part series on some of the similarities, differences and styles of the gospels.  Things simple, things strange, things obvious, things subtle.

Things like, in which Gospel would you find…
Disciples as bumbling and inconsiderate… or faithful and weak but growing… or heros?
The Kingdom of God is NOW… or in the future?
The women have it all figured out, and guys are always confused?
Parables or not?           Call to social action … or spiritual life?            Concentrates on food and meals?                      Talks about the Holy Spirit?
Which one (the ONLY one!) that talks about “the church”?
Were written to Jews?  To Gentiles?                 Which one had a sequel?
Which one actually has two endings in the earliest manuscripts?

That the World May Know
Explore the ancient world of the Bible through video, followed by shared discussion.   Each session covers different places, history and scripture.

Filmed on location in Israel, this unique video set brings God's Word to life with astounding relevance. You probably know the Bible passages by heart. But now you'll understand the meaning and significance behind them. By weaving together the Bible's fascinating historical, cultural, religious and geographical contexts, teacher and historian Ray Vander Laan reveals keen insights into the Scriptures' significance for believers in this day and age.
